Intended use
Malarone Tablets are indicated for the prevention and treatment of uncomplicated malaria in adults, particularly when travelling to high‑risk malaria areas. They are not appropriate for treating severe or complicated malaria. -
Active ingredients and action
Each tablet contains a fixed‑dose combination of atovaquone and proguanil hydrochloride. This combination works as a blood schizontocide and also shows activity against hepatic schizonts of Plasmodium falciparum. -
