Loratadine is an antihistamine that helps relieve symptoms caused by allergic reactions. It’s used for conditions such as hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis (red, itchy eyes), eczema, hives, and reactions to insect bites or stings as well as some food allergies. Loratadine is considered a non‑drowsy antihistamine and is much less likely to cause sleepiness than many older antihistamines.
