Oscar Malaria Antigen Card (Malaria Test Kit)
The Oscar Malaria Antigen Card is a rapid, qualitative test designed to detect Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) and Histidine-Rich Protein II (HRP2) in whole blood to support malaria diagnosis. The assay uses an immunochromatographic format and can be applied for the detection of all Plasmodium species.
- Intended use: Qualitative identification of malarial pLDH and HRP2 in whole blood as an aid in diagnosing malaria.
- Principle: Lateral-flow immunoassay (immunochromatography) for antigen detection.
- Sensitivity/specificity: Formulated with proprietary innovations to enhance analytical sensitivity and specificity.
- Sample type: Whole blood obtained by venous draw or finger-prick.
- Procedure: Apply whole blood to the test device, add 2–3 drops of assay buffer, and allow the reaction to proceed.
- Time to result: Results are available and can be read within 5–20 minutes.
